Emily & Christopher - Wedding

It was a cold winter's day in Peterborough but that didn't stop us from capturing some hot portraits at Emily & Christopher's wedding recently...

I love making beautiful portraits with something simple like a solitary light bulb, a dark dingy basement and a gorgeous subject:

Also, the unlikeliest of rooms can sometimes make for the best photo ops:

Bloodline Parlour in downtown Peterborough offered some very cool locations and props for the photos in the morning:

We made our way to St John's Anglican Church to set up for the ceremony and found this cool staircase up to the bell tower:

Emily had one of the most unique bouquets I've seen in quite a while!

A funny moment during the ceremony preparation with the mother of the groom and the best man:

We took a *quick* stroll downtown for some more pictures.  I didn't need to pose them for this shot - they were just huddling for warmth. ;)

The lighting in this room at the newly renovated Market Hall in Peterborough made for some really cool graphic images:

After the ceremony, the bride and groom were treated to a sparkler reception in front of the church:

Trying something a little different for the speeches.  Here the bride and groom embrace while listening to some loving words from the father of the bride:

One last special shot of the bride and groom before we called it a day:

It was great getting to know you both during our little winter wedding adventure.  I hope you both had a fantastic day and wish you all the best in the future.

Cheers,

Michael

Melissa & Paul - Wedding

Melissa & Paul put together a nice intimate winter wedding reception at the Old Mill in Toronto.  I was pleased to be there to capture photos of them with their friends and family as well as a few portraits of the happy couple seen below:

I hope you both had a great evening and wish you all the best in the future.

Cheers,

Michael

Fritzie & Shawn - Day After Shoot

Here is the final installment of Fritzie & Shawn's amazing Italian wedding.  The morning after the wedding, we made our way down the cable car for a short intimate photo session by the sea:

I hope you both had as much fun as I did capturing every aspect of your beautiful wedding story. I can't wait to get starting on your album - it's going to look amazing!

Stay tuned for some travel photos coming soon from our tour through Rome, Florence and Venice!

Cheers,

Michael

Fritzie & Shawn Wedding - Taormina, Italy

Here's part 2 of Fritzie & Shawn's epic Italian wedding adventure!

The view from our balcony at Villa Carlotta on the morning of the wedding was breathtaking.  If only every work day could start with a scene like this!:

Here's Shawn rocking his awesome (appropriately Italian) Pal Zileri suit:

I love this candid shot of Franzel.  I tried shooting some more like this but nothing came out as well as the first unposed capture:

The gardens had a magical dreamy quality to the light:

Here's a little story of the "reveal" where the bride and groom see each other for the first time:

The view from the gardens was spectacular with the coastline, town of Taormina and Mt Etna in the distance:

There are no shortages of beautifully ornate churches in Italy, and this one was no exception:

They never let us throw rice in Canada...it makes for such an emotive post-ceremony image:

After the ceremony, we all went next door to a café for some champagne and a toast:

Here's my first hand cameo:

A few more shots near the church before we made our way to the reception:

Villa Antonio is rated Taormina's top-rated restaurant on Trip Adviser and for good reason...the food was amazing!  And for a treat of another sort, the bride and groom put on a great show for their guests with an elegant waltz to start off the dancing...

...then broke out into a mini flash-mob with the entire bridal party!  Those dance lessons sure paid off!

I think it's safe to say that everyone had a fantastic trip and this will live long in our memories as one of the best weddings we've ever been a part of!

Cheers,

Michael
